Scout me in biking in the woods boys cub scouts

All children from grades K-5 living near Reston, Vienna, VA, or Sunrise Valley Elementary are welcome to join our Pack. We have a Join Scouting Night in September of each year, but if you miss that night, Scouts can still join our Pack during the school year. In February or March of 5th grade, Cub Scouts transition out of Cub Scouts to a Scouts BSA Troop of their choice.

The Pack usually meets the third Tuesday of every month from 6:30-7:30 PM. Each den also meets once a month, and there are many other outings as well.

Contact us at info at for more information.

Check out our flier with a lot of information about how to join our Pack.

Pack 1313 has been Chartered by Sunrise Valley Elementary School PTA since 1983.

The Cub Scout motto is Do Your Best. We are an entirely volunteer run organization and depend on our families to volunteer.

Lions and Tiger Dens (Kindergarten and 1st grade) require shared leadership and parents share volunteering leadership duties. We understand families are busy with many activities. We welcome all levels of volunteering and we ask that you do your best! Take our family talent survey so we can help you find a task that fits your interests, availability, and skill set.

Cub Scouting is fun for the whole family. In Scouting, boys and girls start with their best right now selves and grow into their very best future selves. It’s fun, hands-on learning and achievement that puts kids in the middle of the action and prepares them for today – and for life. Review the studies on the Benefits of Cub Scouting to find out more.

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

There are four aims of Scouting: citizenship, character, personal fitness, and leadership.

The methods of Cub Scouting are: living the ideals, belonging to a den, advancement, family involvement, activities, serving the community, and the uniform.
